NRGD program EAFS conference 2025
The EAFS conference will take place from 26 to 30 May in Dublin. The NRGD will be present with a workshop and four presentations throughout the week.
Nick Laan and Elise Wijnhorst will kick off on Monday with our DNA Workshop. Beforehand we will ask participants to assess reports. Together with Tacha Hicks and Bart Aarts we will discuss these assessments during the workshop.

The presentations will start on Tuesday and the NRGD director, Michel Smithuis, will present about the Ad Hoc expertise project. He will be talking about Ad Hoc experts (experts with little to no experience in the court of law) and how we can prepare them and improve the quality of their reports.

The NRGD will have two presentations on Wednesday. The first one will be by Dyon Deckers who will be presenting about the NRGD itself, what we do and how we do it.

At the end of the day Nick Laan will give a prestigious Key Note lecture about Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and how the NRGD standardized this field of expertise. He will be talking about the challenges, milestones and pitfalls of adding a new field to the register.

Hinke Hoitzing will give a presentation on Thursday about the rapid changing field of expertise Digital Forensics. Nine years since it has been added to the register, our Standards are not in line with the experts from this field. Hinke will talk about how we are changing the Standards so they will be future proof.
