The draft Standards Forensic Radiology is published on our website. You will have the opportunity to review the content of the draft and provide us with feedback until November 27th 2025.
Over the past months, the Advisory Committee for Standardization (ACS) Forensic Radiology has been working on the draft Standards Forensic Radiology. The ACS consists of Chris O’Donnell, Marieke Hovinga-de Boer, Guy Rutty, Valérie Niehe, Michael Thali, Martijn Nobel, and Wineke Wichern.
The Standards outline the tasks performed by experts and the competencies they must possess. Experts wishing to register with the NRGD will be assessed based on the Standards.
The NRGD requests experts and users of the register to pay particular attention to the following questions when reviewing the draft Forensic Radiology Standards:
- How many reports should an expert, per subfield, typically write per year to maintain expertise?
- Can a forensic radiology expert independently determine the cause and manner of death?
- To what extent does the subfield ‘Living Adults’ fit within this draft of the Standards?
You can send your response to the draft of the Standards Forensic Radiology no later than November 27th 2025 to: deskundigenregister@nrgd.nl, for the attention of Karien van den Doel. The NRGD will consider the responses together with the ACS.
