NRGD is governed by an independent Board of Court Experts. New Board nominees are appointed by the Minister of Security and Justice for a period of four years (with one option of extension for another four years). The Board is an independent administrative body recognized by law.
The Board consists of scientists and members of organizations: Public Prosecution Service, judiciary, Police and Bar.
The Board is authorized to:
- Decide whether applicants will be registered or removed from the Register
- Promote and establish specific standards per field of expertise
- Establish a code of conduct for registered experts.
The Board may advise the Minister of Justice on policy and regulations relating to court experts.
